Career Forum Agritechnica Fendt and AGCO: “Our employees make us strong!”

Fend auf der Agritechnica“People in the Heart of AGCO”, that is the motto of Fendt and AGCO. The Human Resources department, which will present itself in the centre of the AGCO stand in Hall 9 at the Agritechnica 2011 in Hanover, will bring this motto to life.
Customers and employees from Fendt and AGCO have one thing in common: both stand in the centre of interest of the corporate management – the customers for obvious reasons, and the employees, because without them there would be no customers.

Peter-Josef Paffen, Vice President and Spokesman for the Fendt Management: “Under the motto “People in the Heart of AGCO”, we will be showing what makes Fendt and AGCO special as employers. For example, we are a pure agricultural technology company and therefore true specialists in the future-oriented agricultural equipment industry. We offer junior employees and employees with professional experience a wide range of training and career paths. Not least, because in addition to Fendt, we are also represented by our other three major brands – Valtra, Challenger and Massey Ferguson. Career development paths based on diverse cultures and content are therefore the norm for us.”

Talent on board

In Germany, there are 3,459 employees (June 2011) employed at Fendt alone. To remain at the top on a long-term basis, the company is not only searching for the best heads, but is also making sure that employees are prepared for future demands, both professional and personal, by offering an advanced training programme with a wide range of choices.
Starting a career at Fendt and AGCO follows successful international processes. Martin Richenhagen, Chairman, President & CEO of the AGCO Corporation: “The way new employees are received in a company says a lot about what they can expect. We do not leave this to chance; we accompany our employees from the very first day onwards. In this way we make sure that new colleagues gain a foothold quickly so that the fresh momentum they bring to their positions is not lost.”

Top choice employer

Another trump card in the competition for market leadership is young talents. “We are especially committed to fostering young talents, for example, by supporting German scholarships at various colleges and universities or by educating some of our future engineers ourselves through the dual study system,” explains Peter-Josef Paffen.
In the past, Fendt has repeatedly been one of the most popular employers, most recently in the Trendence Graduate Barometer 2011. The innovation driver Fendt not only places amongst “Germany's 100 Top Employers”, but also takes a top position amongst Europe's 500 most popular employers.

Together we are strong

No wonder. Those who decide for a career at Fendt have a strong company behind them: In 2010, some 16,000 AGCO employees worldwide generated net sales totalling 6.9 billion US dollars – the result of continual high investments as well as company-wide and cross-brand team spirit.
Another secret for success is that the (senior) management is close to the base: flat hierarchies ensure that employees and their ideas and concerns are heard. Martin Richenhagen: “The sustainable, excellent development of our company confirms that we have taken the right approach. Our employees and markets benefit from that.”
